Lunginhlahla Projects is a female owned poultry agribusiness, established in 2020, that produces and sells eggs. Having started as a small, home-based broiler business, breeding 100 birds at a time, the business has expanded to produce eggs on a 10 000-layer unit, with plans to expand it to a 30 000-layer unit in the next 5 years (2028). The joint owners and MDs of the company are Silondiwe Nxumalo and Ntwenhle Linda. The company operates from a long-term leased sugarcane farm located in Mangethe, Mandeni, allowing ample space to accommodate future expansion plans. Trading as Qandalami, the business sells its eggs to mostly the semi-formal and informal markets, including town shops, wholesalers and farmgate sales.
